Job Description
With the cotton harvest being well underway, our client in Moree is currently looking for a qualified candidate to take on the role of “Assistant Ginner / Ginner.”
The ideal candidate will be joining in, on a full-time basis, handling the duties and daily operations of the gin. Overseeing shifts and ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety operations of all areas in the gin, your role will have you doing (but not limited to) the following:
- Smooth operation of the gin to achieve production and quality results consistent with that, which is expected by management.
- Aid management with instruction and tutoring of the crew in their duties and responsibilities and always ensuring full utilisation of al crew members.
- Monitoring and maintaining machinery and equipment to the highest standard to facilitate continuity of production and quality standards.
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed daily.
- Reporting to the site manager of any discrepancies or problems that affect the daily operation of the gin.
- Conduct welfare checks on employees daily to ensure that all individuals are safe and fit to work.
- Other duties as required of them from the site supervisor.
Your Skills & Experience
You will need to have a “can do” attitude with at least two years of experience in ginning and supervision work. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on the job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
