Job Description:
As a Logistics delivery Coordinator Cum Driver , your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials by coordinating and managing a team of drivers. You will play a crucial role in optimizing delivery schedules, monitoring driver performance, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Driver Management:
- Coordinate and schedule the activities of drivers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of goods.
- Assign drivers to specific routes and provide them with clear instructions and directions.
- Monitor driver performance, including adherence to schedules, compliance with regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Address any performance or disciplinary issues with drivers and provide necessary training or guidance.
2. Route Planning and Optimization:
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize fuel consumption, and reduce transportation costs.
- Consider factors such as traffic conditions, delivery priorities, and driver availability when planning routes.
- Use routing software or GPS systems to determine the most efficient routes and update drivers on any changes or detours.
3. Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain regular communication with drivers to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Liaise with other departments, such as warehouse and customer service, to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues or delays.
- Communicate with customers to provide delivery updates, address inquiries or complaints, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of driver activities, including hours worked, miles driven, and deliveries made.
- Prepare and submit reports on driver performance, delivery metrics, and any incidents or accidents that occur.
- Ensure all required documentation, such as delivery receipts and logbooks, are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure drivers comply with all relevant transportation regulations, including driving hours limits, vehicle inspections, and licensing requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety among drivers by providing training on safe driving practices and enforcing adherence to safety policies.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents involving drivers and take appropriate actions to prevent future occurrences.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.
- Proven experience in logistics coordination, preferably in a driver management role.
- Must be ever of Dubai Routes and a valid driving license
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with routing software and GPS systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in using computer software and applications, such as MS Office or logistics management systems.
