Iolar Operational Services (IOS) is seeking to engage an individual to work at the Sunshine Coast operate plant at the Sunshine Coast Resource Recovery Centres (RCC). IOS currently manages and operates the resource recovery and bulk stockpile areas of these five (5) RCCs on behalf of Council.
Main roles and responsibilities include:
- Liaise with and provide information to the IOS Resource Recovery Centre (RCC) Supervisor and IOS Operations Manager.
- Customer focused, including providing direction and assisting customers, council and other contractors.
- Inspect and assess all incoming loads and manage payment to ensure compliance with waste acceptance criteria.
- Identify and remove contamination from bulk stockpiles and from storage areas / containers where recovered items are stored.
- Monitor of stockpile volumes, bin capacities and other resources and stockpiles and report of such to the IOS RCC Supervisor.
Preferred skills include:
- Waste management experience.
- Health and safety knowledge and experience.
- Computer skills for cash handling and eftpos transactions
- Good customer service and experience with dealing with difficult people.
- Capability to be outside all door and undertake labouring activities.
- License for operating a wheeled excavator is desirable.

Job Type: Casual
Roster Type: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at the Beerwah RRC with additional work at the other rural sites as required (Witta, Yandina, Kenilworth and Mapleton).
Hours: 8 hours / day
Pay Rates: Based on Waste Management Award 2020, Level 3 Casual:
- Mon to Fri – First 8 Hours: $32.65
- 1st 2 hours after 8 M-F and Sat 1st 2 hours: $41.79
- After 10 hours M-F and after 1st 2 hours Sat and all Sun: $54.85
Expected Start Date: End of June 2023
Contract length: 4 months (with possible continuation with IOS or other Business)
