Senior Manager Finance [South Korea]

Job Summary:

  • Role is responsible for leading the Finance function and Wholesaler Management function in South Korea, ensuring the delivery of strategic and business planning, sound financial performance, optimal resource allocation, comprehensive controls and compliance, robust process management as well as leading business partnering with the South Korea ED GM and country leadership team. The role also builds and develops the South Korea finance team (including FP&A, F&A, GSS and WSM).

  • In this capacity, the Finance lead will:

      Play a key role in partnering with South Korea General Manager (GM) and the functional leads to formulate and drive local business strategy and growth initiatives
    • Provides robust and objective financial analysis with interpretation and recommendations to the GM in support of decisions
    • Lead, organize and resource local financial consolidation, reporting and administrative activities including, not limited to, quarter end close, statutory audits, tax compliance and treasury, and internal audits
    • Lead, organize and resource local core business planning processes tasks (e.g. long range plans, budget and financial forecasts, business reviews) to ensure timely and accurate execution of all requirements
    • Proactively manages operating expenses to help deliver profitability in conjunction with GM and leadership team
    • Proactively advises affiliate leadership on important business and financial decisions/issues, leading commercial strategic planning in conjunction with South Korea GM
    • Represents affiliate and function to JAPAC Management Team and member of JAPAC finance leadership team
    • Manages, develops and coaches finance team and resources in affiliate to provide effective financial and business decision support to affiliate operations across all functions
    • Ensures implementation and adherence to corporate and local policies and procedures
    • Leads or takes part in local and regional projects such as business systems implementations and process improvements
    • Develop and maintain distribution channel for products supply
    • Ensure trade margin, selling price and payment terms in distribution contracts are compliant with pricing policy and customer finance policy
    • Ensure wholesalers’ orders are within credit limit, account receivables are secured with bank guarantees and cash collections are on time
    • Provide GM and country leadership team with distribution channel intelligence (including ITM sales data, channel stock data and channel stock aging data)
    • Support BD in deal model generation, P&L generation and manage appropriate P&L “translation” from deal model to budget and forecast
    • Other functions and duties that may be assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in Economics or Business Administration
  • Experience of more than 4 years-work in similar position/s in an international environment.
  • Experience in an international matrix organization with a Headquarters in the US is valuable.
  • Leadership experience managing people, projects and directing the allocation of resources is critical.
  • Experience in accounting, consolidation, reporting, business partnering.
  • Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.
  • Excellent user of MS Office Programs as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion and SAP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Studies specialized in finance (financial analysis, controlling, accounting, consolidation) MBA and/or CPA would be an advantage.
  • Strong background across all areas of finance (FP&A, controllership, accounting, tax, treasury and audit).
  • Experience of 8 or more years in a Management position within an international finance department including leading change management would be an advantage.
  • Biological pharmaceutical industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, and SOX.
  • Experience with data & analytics software and visualization tools such as Tableau and Anaplan.
