Job Description
Our client is currently looking for suitable candidates to take on the role of construction labourers at their site in Carisbrook, VIC.
Construction Labourer is a hands-on position that is physical in nature with real responsibility - assemble, monitor, and maintain the integrity of the poultry sheds. You will be carrying out the following (but not limited to) duties:
- Safely lifting a maximum of 15kg regularly throughout the day (including bending, lifting, carrying, and placing) and infrequent safe lifting of 20kg.
- Pulling and pushing heavy items (e.g., poultry shed components).
- Labouring duties in line with shed and component assembly work including shovelling and hammering.
- Kneeling, twisting, laying down when needed to conduct pre-start inspections or trouble shoot any issues on plant and equipment.
- Lifting items weighing up to 10kg over shoulder height for up to 2 hours a day.
- Other duties as required by the supervisor.
Please note that some tasks may require the ability to identify and distinguish colours. Although full colour vision is not a mandatory requirement for the role, it's important to inform your supervisor if you are colour blind.
Your Skills & Experience
Prior experience within the construction industry and ability to use power tools are both highly regarded along with a valid white card. To be considered for the role, it's important you can address the following criteria:
- Can follow written and verbal instructions well
- Can work quickly under pressure and meet deadlines
- Have experienced in the use of hand and power tools
- Are physically fit (have to bend/kneel/work on elevated platforms/lift boxes and walk long distances throughout the day)
- Can work unsupervised, demonstrating personal initiative
- Have valid white card.
- Have own transport
