Job Responsibilities:
- Support and steer financial performance in the complex EMEA region (revenues 450m, >30 markets, 2 sites)
- Key stakeholder in strategic decision making, investment decisions and transformational business topics
- Provide transparency of performance - financial results, price and margin performance, inventory management, EBITDA evolution, etc.
- Business partner to EMEA region head, member of the CHI Finance and EMEA LT
- Manage, mentor and develop the EMEA finance teams across different locations
- Works closely with the EMEA regional stake holders and collaborates very closely with the Finance LT members, supply chain and operational leaders
- Ensures financial compliance, drives productivity initiatives, support commercial / OPS activities and strategy development, guide on technical financial matters, support day to day finance operations and ensures the function operates at a high level of excellence
- Be the first contact person for all financial and business related matters and act as a business partner for the regional leads and CHI Senior Management to secure achievement of financial targets
- Ownership for all financial reporting, planning and analysis processes for the global commercial organization
- Monthly reporting (Price, Volume & Mix, FX), Sales and margins review, inventory, collections, operational matrix and EBITDA development.
- Long term planning (BSR), annual budget, outlooks and forecasts
- Cost control for the region – from sales to EBITDA
- Drive speed/transparency for business analysis, drive sub-regional targets/reviews & identify options for closing any gaps to target and mitigate risks
- Provide recommendations for customer pricing & credit limits along with operational investment decisions to support the CHI strategy
- Drive state of the art controlling/analytical tools/techniques/ KPI‘s to present a fair/reliable overall financial picture. Identify significant improvement potential through variance analysis, derive alternatives/solutions and facilitate/take related decisions.
- Ensure accuracy/reliability/completeness/ timeliness of regional reporting and that the Head of Finance is constantly updated about all critical issues & development
- Supports assessment of potential M&A transactions as well as due diligences and business integration
- Lead by example cross-functional collaboration. Ensure strong communication lines/permanent information flow between regions, finance, operations, supply chain and collaborates with Group Finance Management in ensuring state of the art financial systems and processes that maximize functional efficiency
- Shares global responsibility for CHI financial and management accounting in accordance with IFRS, the Lonza Finance Accounting Manual (FAM) and other required accounting principles
- Leads key strategic and tactical initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor or Masters in Finance, FP&A (Analysis and Reporting), M&A
- Must be Business fluent in English. German & French is nice to have.
- Extensive experience in Finance, FP&A (Analysis and Reporting), M&A.
- Must have leadership & people skills.
- Used to work in a fast changing environment within a global matrix organization
- Finance Business Partner with EBITDA mindset to help define business strategy and plans
- Strong data knowledge and experience with global ERP systems (SAP, BW, Hyperion), knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular strong excel skills required
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Bias towards action and results delivery which are critical in a highly performance oriented environment
- Ability to communicate clear and concise (written/oral) at senior management as well as good presentations skills (PowerPoint) – incl. ability to interpret a large volume of information and reduce it crisp key messages
- Strong formal and informal leadership skills to effectively define and implement a commercial finance and functional agenda
- Exceptional analytical skills to support complex business analysis including commercial deals, portfolio optimization, supply chain management, operational efficiency projects and potential M&A transactions
